Spring is in the air…coming soon

Spring is coming – there’s a nip of cool still in the air but yesterday felt like summer. These are the days where the temp swings 20 degrees and I’m enjoying sitting outside listening to the songbirds, watching my new grass green up, the birds at the feeders, and chasing squirrels away!

New titles are at the printer! Release date April 1st (no fooling!). You can pre-order now through your local shop or if you don’t have a LNS, here

Contentment

Stitching this piece during the pandemic provided a sense of peace and contentment. I was inspired by my Peace Trilogy teaching designs (Serenity, Harmony, & Tranquility) which I offered as online classes last year. Those class lessons remain online and you can still sign up for them even though the official classes are finished.

I used Gloriana Silk in the “Tulip Festival” color as my inspiration – it has purples, pinks, blues, and greens and I used these to pull a soft palette of pearl cottons, Vineyard Silks, and Rainbow Gallery threads. I was sad to finish stitching this as I enjoyed 135 sparks of joy as I completed each square or rectangle. Of course, the good thing about finishing is getting to start something new!

ZigZag 2

Continuing with some “comfort stitching”, ZigZag 2 is stitched entirely with overdyed Vineyard Silk from ThreadworX. It’s one of my favorite threads to work with – it glides through the canvas and doesn’t have to be stranded!

This is the 2nd of three designs that when displayed together will create a large “zigzag” pattern. The first pattern ZigZag was released last fall and the final pattern, ZigZag 3 will be released later this year.
