Nashville preview

Welcome to the first blog post from my new website. I’m thrilled with the first month of activity and am working on getting up to speed on sending out newsletters, blogging, and setting up a separate page for Needle Delights Originals on Facebook. I invite you to like or follow me there as eventually, my personal Facebook account will become private.

In a few short weeks, I’ll be making the annual trek to Nashville. This is the tenth anniversary of my first tradeshow exhibiting. How time flies! It’s one of my favorite events of the year as I get to see old friends and “show and tell” my latest designs and preview upcoming happenings.

At this show, I’ll be releasing four designs. You can see them all in the “Coming Soon” section of my NEW website! Gypsy was inspired by a collection of fabrics I purchased last year while I was on a teaching trip. While I haven’t even cut into the fabric, I did complete this design using the colors in them. Maybe I’ll make a coordinating quilt with them to go with my Gypsy!

Sapphire is the 9th design in my Jewels and Gemstones collection. It has been a while since I’ve added to this collection and I’ve been wanting to do a “Sapphire” for years. I recently bought myself a beautiful sapphire ring with rich royal blue stones and had a great time shopping for threads to match it! This design is near and dear to my heart.

While Color Delights is the most prolific of my collections with a large number of designs, it has been neglected the last couple of years. I’ll be releasing a few more this year. These small designs finish at 4×4 and are perfect for beginners. Peach joins the collection as #48 – there’s quite a bit of sparkle that doesn’t show up in the photo. Peach was the direct result of someone’s request – what color would you like to see next??

Color Delights – Peach

Last but not least, there’s no time like now to start thinking about the holidays! Christmas Rounds 2 is a new set of 3 inch round ornaments in Cardinal Red, Aqua, and White – I love the contemporary fresh crisp feel of this color combination and these were especially fun to stitch. They’re also a great project for a beginner and if you don’t want to do ornaments, several framed together would look great – think about a row of three – horizontally or vertically placed!
