Stained Glass Stars

Description

Stained Glass Stars is a fun to stitch design with a variety of stitches – some you’ll be familiar with and some I’ve made up just for this piece! It is stitched entirely with Watercolours and a very light neutral overdyed floss for the background.

Multiple colorways are listed in the pattern and some substitutes of overdyed pearl cotton from Threadworx for Watercolours are used. The design size is 13×13.

Original Threads (shown in completed photo): The threads in the photographs of the alternate colorways are shown in the order they will be used, starting in the center – only small amounts of the first four threads are used. The colorway is named for the Watercolour used for the stars and is the 6th thread (the very middle).

Flagstone: Charcoal, gray, and teals accented with corals

Savannah: Turquoise, aqua, and copper

Harvest: Greens, peaches, and rust

Salt & Pepper: Black, whites, reds, and grays

Burnt Toast: Browns, rusts, soft gold, and yellows

Cypress: Greens, peaches, and burgundy (the Cypress Watercolour didn’t photograph well but is much more green than the photo shows. The thread to the left of it is actually a dark forest green and it photographed more “brown”.)
